Preowned Pelikan 500 Black Double L Gunther Wagner Fountain Pen

This is a vintage pre-Souveran Pelikan fountain pen that dates to the early 1950s.

It has a rolled gold cap and piston knob, a black barrel, a piston filling system, and a nib made of 14kt gold.

The pen we are listing here has seen heavy use, which shows over its barrel and cap. Both show significant wear-marks, and the rolled gold is partially pealed off the clip. However, the pen is in good working condition, and a sample of the nib's performance can be seen on the text in the background of the images posted here (Pen tested on July 17, 2023).

The nib in question has a broad downstroke, but a very slim profile, and we would label it as an Italics nib. The pen shows excellent ink flow, and will be a joy to the lovers of vintage pens.

The Pelikan 500 measures 12.5cm closed, much similar to the size of the modern M400.

Comes in a Pelikan gift box that is not period correct.
