The Pelikan M7170 Majesty 170th Anniversary Limited Edition was released in 2008 to commemorate Pelikan's 170th anniversary.
This model was based on the Majesty style, which was in production between 2006 and 2012, but the specific edition was produced during 2008 in a very exclusive series of 170 numbered fountain pens.
The barrel and cap of the fountain pen are made of gold coated silver, and feature elaborate decoration. An elegant ligned motif decorates the middle of the barrel of the pen, visually separating it from the clean, flat grip and backend.
The cap of the fountain pen features M7000's Pelikan beak which differs both in shape and in positioning from its more well known brother seen on the Souveran models. The top of the cap carries an etching inspired by an Art Nouveau frieze on one of Pelikan's buildings in Hannover. As a final touch to underline the exclusivity of this edition three natural diamonds are set on the cap.
The Majesty 170th Anniversary Edition fountain pen has an 18kt gold nib. This edition carries an integrated piston filling mechanism, which Pelikan decided to hide inside the outer silver barrel - so one has to remove the barrel in order to operate the piston.
This very interesting and rare edition comes in a large gift box designed specifically for the 170th Anniversary Edition.
