Montegrappa Luxor Blue Nile Limited Edition Fountain Pen

The Montegrappa Luxor Blue Nile is an extravagant limited edition of 1912 numbered fountain pens made of blue celluloid, and sterling silver.

The Luxor Blue Nile was released in 1996, and forms a duet with the Red Sea which was released a year later in an even more restricted quantity.

The barrel and cap of this edition are given a unique shape, with design and proportions never seen before in Montegrappa.

However, the most astonishing attribute of the pen is the extraordinary silver overlay, filled with hieroglyphs and symbols originating in the Ancient Egyptian culture. The uniquely designed clip of the Blue Nile is in the shape of a coiling cobra, and has natural sapphires for eyes.

A dedicated nib was employed for this edition, which also features an intergrated piston filling system, and an ebonite feeder. The pen comes in a large gift box that also doubles as a desk stand, with a design inspired by the pyramids and the temple at Luxor.
