Pelikan Originals of their Time 1931 Gold Limited Edition Fountain Pen Preowned

The pen listed here is preowned and used but in very good condition and works flawlessly. It shows only minor signs of use (microscratches) on its gold parts, consistent with the use of a metal as soft as gold. It show neither dents, nor deep scratches. Upon request we can supply detailed photos of the pen. It comes with the original box and papers supplied by Pelikan for the particular limited edition.

The "Originals of their Time" Collection, celebrates the classic Pelikan 100 models of the 1930s.

The Pelikan 100 models, were the fountain pens that carried the piston mechanism, and popularized the Pelikan brand.

Released in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Originals of their Time included a total of 5 variations of the Pelikan 100, all executed in highly limited editions:

• 1997: 1931 Gold, a limited edition of 5000 numbered fountain pens
• 1998: 1935 Green, a limited edition of 4000 numbered fountain pens
• 2000: 1931 White Gold, a limited edition of 1931 numbered fountain pens
• 2001: 1935 Blue, a limited edition of 1935 numbered fountain pens
• 2003: 1931 Toledo

The 1931 Gold edition is made of black celluloid and 18kt yellow gold. The barrel is dominated by a sleeve made of 18kt yellow gold, carrying a fine guilloche engaving. The cap has two yellow gold coated decorative rings to match the gold coated clip, and a vintage-styled logo embossed in green.

Naturally, the pen incorporates the piston filling mechanism, and is equipped with an 18kt yellow gold nib.
