Preowned Montblanc 244G Grey Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen with celluloid barrel, 14kt gold nib, and gold coated metal parts, and piston filling system.

The Montblanc 244G was introduced in the early 1950s, and is characteristc of the timeless design of the period.

Its design hints to the modern Meisterstuck fountain pens, although the 244G is shorter that the modern Classique model, has a more girthy barrel in order to accommodate the piston filling system, and a nib that looks larger than that of the Classique. The fountain pen has a screw-on cap, and has its knob hidden under a blind cap on the back end of the barrel.

The fountain pen listed here is preowned but in fairly good condition, it is marked M for a medium nib, but the nib currently on it performs like a demi-flex fine (see writing on the background). The piston moved smoothly during the in-house test (August 2023), and the nib performed rather well too. The manufacturer's Imprints on the cap and barrel are clearly visible.

Overall the condition of the fountain pen is very good, although naturally it does show some minor signs of wear on its surfaces, but no deep scratches or dents.

The item will be shipped in a standard Montblanc giftbox that is from a later period.
