Developed on the M800 base, the Pelikan Genesis of the Olympiad is a limited edition of 776 numbered fountain pens, released in 1998.

The Pelikan Genesis of the Olympiad was created in honor of the oldest, most prestigious sporting contest in human history. This rare fountain pen was produced in only 776 numbered pieces, reflecting the year 776 B.C., the year the first Olympic Games were held.

The Genesis of the Olympiad combines an earthly red resin on the cap, knob, and grip of the fountain pen with an elaborate silver sleeve on the barrel. The barrel features exclusive Toledo work design inspired by ancient Hellenic pottery works featuring three Olympic athletes.

Pelikan developed a special box for this pen in the shape of a stadium, featuring a transparent cap.

As all M800 pens, the Genesis of the Olympiad has an 18kt solid gold nib, and uses a piston filling system. The fountain pen has a transparent window near the grip that allows the user to check remaining ink level.
