Visconti Ulysses Limited Edition Fountain Pen

A rare limited edition of only 75 numbered fountain pens released around the year 2000, the Ulysses by Ugo Attardi is dedicated to the famous Italian artist Ugo Attardi, and his life-size bronze statue of the Homeric hero Ulysses that can be seen today at Battery Park in New York.

This rare fountain pen was developed on commission to a very limited quantity of 75 fountain pens. It features a satin blue resin coated with a skeletonized sleeve made of sterling silver. The silver sleeve covering the pen is skeletonized to a design inspired by the epic adventures of Homer's Ulysses.

On the barrel, the design shows Ulysses wearing a helmet, and a cladding sword and shield, along with further imagery including waves and Poseidon's fork. The cap is covered by an imagery of waves and a stylized mermaid.

On the cap top, there is an embossed miniature version of the actual sculpture of Ugo Attardi that stands today in Battery Park in New York. The clip is embossed with the name of the hero "Ulysses".

This model is based on the oversized Visconti that is used on the Ripple, the Skeleton, and similar models, and it features a two-tone 18kt gold nib and a double-reservoir power filling system. It comes in a luxurious gift box dedicated to this edition.
