Visconti received the honor of making the official pens of the G8 Summit of 2009 in L'Aquila, Italy.
The model selected for the occassion was Visconti's precious Divina Elegance Oversize in Black Lucite with silver trims.
The elegant fountain pen that Visconti designed according to the divine proportions derived by the study of nature by scientists and artists of the renaissance was an obvious choice for a summit of the leaders of the largest economies of the world.
The Divina symbolizes balance and perfection in man and nature.
Black lucite is used to form the elegantly swirling body of the pen and sterling silver threads are inlaid to highlight the design of the pen. The G8 Summit Limited Edition is further decorated on the ring with the enameled engravings "G8 SUMMIT 2009 L'AQUILA" that commemorate the edition. A special jewel is set on the top of the cap that carries an italian flag to honor the country hosting the summit. Finally, the number of the series is laser engraved on the lower part of the cap.
A total of 2009 numbered pieces of this fountain pen were produced.
The Divina G8 Summit fountain pen has a 14kt white gold nib, and an integrated piston. It closes with Visconti's pattent closing system and has the very practical clip with the double spring system.
