Pelikan Caelum Limited Edition Fountain Pen

A rare limited edition fountain pen based on the Pelikan M1000 model, the Caelum Limited Edition was released in 2005, in a series of 580 numbered fountain pens that came in special giftboxes exclusive to this edition.

The pen listed here is new from our stock, and comes with the full set of box and papers prepared for this edition.

This spectacular creation is an ode to our solar system and features an extraordinary decoration.

The pen was developed on the M1000, and uses the well known extra large 18kt gold nib of the emblematic Pelikan fountain pen, and Pelikan's integrated piston. However, the edges of both the cap and the barrel are specially tappered to accomodate the particularities of the design of the pen.

The whole creation is made in a space blue lacquer, and features gold coated decorative parts. A gold coated line on the side opposing the clip features engraved the names of our solar system's planets in Latin, with the Sun set at the very top of the cap. The planets are presented according to their distance from the sun.

On the opposing side the planets are presented in sequence, and in proportion to their size in a blue lacquer slightly lighter than the one used to depict the darkness of space. A fine blue line connect each of the planets to their name on the other side of the pen.
