Developed on the M800 base, the Pelikan Xuan Wu is a limited edition of 888 numbered fountain pens, released in 2001.

The Xuan Wu is part of a 5-pen series dedicated to Asian Mystical and Mythological Creatures. In addition to the Xuan Wu, the series included the Imperial Dragon, the Golden Phoenix, the White Tiger, and the Kirin, all five creatures of high symbolic meaning in Asian Cultures.

The Xuan Wu has a startling marbled green resin on the cap, piston knob, and grip of the fountain pen with an elaborate silver sleeve on the barrel. The barrel features exclusive Toledo work, with a design developed for this edition, featuring imagery of the Mythological Xuan Wu Turtle.

The pen listed here is new, and comes with a full set of boxes and documents accompanying the edition.

As all M800 pens, the Xuan Wu has an 18kt solid gold nib, and uses a piston filling system. The fountain pen has a transparent window near the grip that allows the user to check remaining ink level.
