Montblanc Patron of the Prince Regent 4810 Limited Edition Fountain Pen 17659

The Montblanc Prince Regent fountain pen was introduced in 1995 in an exclusive limited edition of 4810 numbered pieces.

While the flamboyant lifestyle of King George IV of England (1762-1820) was known to have upset his subjects at times, his intense love for the arts impressed even harsh critics.

'Prince Regent' promoted numerous literary figures and encouraged many architects to draw their finest designs, resulting in the treasured Regent's Park and the celebrated restoration of the Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Furthermore he donated his priceless collection of fine art to the National Gallery. It is because of his never ending devotion to art that the Regency Period has become a synonym for elegance and refinement of style.

The main parts of the pen are executed in a beautiful blue lacquer covered by an overlay of gold coated silver.

The cap of the fountain pen features a delicate composition with a crown that recalls the keen eye for detail of royal craftsmen of the past.

This is piston filling fountain pen, that has an 18kt gold nib with a dedicated decoration, featuring a crown, and the year of the edition's release.

The pen listed here comes from our store's private collection and has papers stamped by another retailer in 1995. It has never been used, it comes with the full set of papers and the interior (wooden) box, but lacks the exterior (paper) cover of the box. The price we list for this pen is indicative of estimated current values and recent trades. Please feel free to contact us with your offers or for more details.
