Davidoff Velero Black Palladium Rollerball Pen

The name “Valero” which in Spanish means sailboat and the deep black color allude to the nautical explorations. The pen is crafted in a solid metal body covered in beautiful shiny black lacquer with palladium parts. The pen follows a tapered form with a cap that flares up at the top and it finishes in a thinner form at the end of the barrel. The top of the cap is inlaid with the company logo. The clip is nicely designed with two tines and a bend in the middle which is intentionally left unpolished in order to give it a more industrial look. It is a spring loaded clip which means it features good flexibility and it wouldn’t be a problem to clip the pen on really thick fabric or notebook cover.
The pen features a nice inscription located on the inner side of the clip that reads “Made in France” and other with the company branding name on the bend under the crown and on the grip section.

The pen cap unscrews with one and a half turns and the threads are very smooth contributing for an easy screwing and unscrewing action. The pen is very well balanced and feels solid rather than heavy or dense. You can post the cap to give the pen even longer length and balance. Posted the pen has an astonishing length at 160mm.
