Between the 9th and 15th century the strongest Italian cities in the Mediterranean region, Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice, were referred as the four Maritime Republics. These city-states had grown wealthy through commerce and became even more powerful during the Crusades.

To celebrate the Maritime Republics, Delta creates a collection of writing instruments limited to 1099 pieces.

The Marine Republics Limited Edition Fountain Pen is hand-turned from a special Mediterranean Blue resin, covered with a sleeve in sterling silver engraved with the four symbols of the four cities: the Cathedral of Amalfi, the Lighthouse of Genoa, the Tower of Pisa, and the Rialto Bridge of Venice.

The silver ring on the cap is engraved with the seals of the four Maritime Republics in enamel.

The nib is made of 18 kt gold and is platinum plated.
