The Visconti Mazzi collection is a collection of highly limited fountain pens created by the Florentine penmaker in cooperation with the Italian airbrush artist Claudio Mazzi.

The first Visconti Mazzi fountain pens appeared in 2001 with the famous Dragon portrait limited to 888 pieces and several more unique models were launched in the years that followed.

The Visconti Mazzi series was based on the larger size of the original Visconti Van Gogh collection, and is made exclusively in fountain pens featuring 14kt solid gold nibs - the standard gold nib Visconti used at the time. The fountain pens come with a luxury converter but can also be operated with cartridges.

The barrels and caps of the Mazzi fountain pens feature unique airbrush paintings made by hand, a technique that requires painstaking attention to detail in order to achieve the desired result. 

Several themes were developed in the duration of the cooperation, among which the "Metropolis" collection a part of which the present pen "New York" was. The pen has a detailed painting with references to New York that include a sunset among skyscrapers and the Statue of Liberty.
