The Omas D-Day limited edition fountain pen was released by Omas in 1994 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the landing in Normandy of the Allied Forces.
The military enterprise, called “Overlord” was the result of a wideranging collaboration between America, Russia and England to put an end to the German occupation of France and thus overturning the German's headways.
Since then, D Day has become a symbol of freedom as it was one of the first major successes of the allies against the Nazi forces.
The barrel of the pen is made in green vegetal resin, and the cap in matte metal with gold coated clip and details.
It comes with a Medium 18kt gold nib and has an integrated piston filling system.
On offer we have No. 4084 out of 5300 numbered pieces produced in this limited edition.
This is a rare and interesting pen that speaks of one of the turning points of the largest lash of the 20th century.
The pen has never been inked, but has been dipped in store for testing. It comes with the dedicated box & papers set.
Please note that the pen comes with a dedicated sleeve as well, unfortunately this is a leatherette sleeve and although it is available the passage of time has taken its toll on it.
