Montblanc's 2007 Writers Edition Series honors a great modern American author, William Faulkner.

William Faulkner, born in 1897 in the Mississippi Hills the son of a long-established Southern family, invented an entire region as the setting for his novels. More than a dozen of his works are set in Yoknapatawpha County, a fictitious area of Mississippi. 

In novels such as "The Sound and the Fury" and "Light in August" Faulkner explored behind the bourgeois facade of the Southern states and drew the reader into a web of crumbling values and family dramas.

Faulkner pursued new paths with his writing style.

Like James Joyce and Virginia Woolf he experimented with the storytelling techniques of the interior monologue, interwoven strands of plot and ambitious changes of time and perspective which made him a pioneer of modern American literature.

In 1950 the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner William Faulkner was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for his "powerful and artistically unique contribution to the modern American novel."

The Montblanc William Faulkner collection uses two highly contrasting materials, to underline the tension present in the Southern states during Faulkner's lifetime. Platinum coated metal in ribbed design forms the center of the barrels, while the edges of the writing instruments are made in a dark green resin.

Montblanc's William Faulkner limited edition edition includes 16000 numbered fountain pens, 18000 numbered ballpoint pens, and 4000 numbered mechanical pencils. A total of 4000 sets were released, each set including one of each of the aforementioned writing instruments.

The fountain pens have an 18kt white gold nib that carries an exclusive to the edition engraving. They use a piston filling system, measure 13.7 cm capped and weight 43.2 grams.

The ballpoint pens measure 13.6cm and weight 45.5 grams.

The mechanical pencils measure 13.8cm and weight 48.9 grams.

The set listed here is new, from our own collection and has never been used or sold. It is in overall mint condition and comes with a full set of box and accompanying documents.
