Released in 1992 the Pelikan Souverän M800 Transparent Green Fountain Pen was the pen that started the wave of limited and special edition fountain pens that has carried onto today.

The M800 Transparent Green was released as a plain, unnumbered edition. Interestingly enough, in the United States the fountain pens circulated with handwritten certificates that claimed a numbered 3000 pens, but this only accounts for the quantity that was available in the U.S.A..

The pen listed here is a new old stock pen in mint condition. It comes from the European batch, so there is no limited edition certificate accompanying the pen.

The barrel and cap of the 1992 Transparent Green are made of an apple green transparent resin, while its metal trims are gold coated. It has an 18kt gold nib marked PF.

With the exception of minor decorative differences the 1992 fountain pens is identical to the contemporary Special Edition released in 2023. The differences can be noticed on the decorative rings of the pen, on the cap top, and the back end of the piston knob.

The pen is technically identical with the standard Pelikan Souverän M800 fountain pens.
