Up to the redesign of late 1997, the Pelikan M600 was identical in size with the M400. They only had minor differences in decorative bands, and -more significantly- in their nibs. The M400 had a nib made of 14kt gold, while the M600 had an 18kt gold nib.
The fountain pen listed here is a new old stock M600 fountain pen in its original style, with a size identical to the M400 but an 18kt gold nib.
Note such original characteristics as the single decorative ring near the piston knob - the M400 a the time had no rings, while today's M600 pens have 2 - the older version of the logo, and the cap marked "W. Germany".
A fabulous pen that will enthuse collectors and users alike.
The pre-1998 M600 Souverän fountain pens are effectively identical in all technical aspects to more modern Souverän pens. They are however equipped with 18kt gold nibs.
They measure 12.5 cm when capped and weigh 15.3 grams when empty.
